SEAT · key replacement
SEAT key replacementmobile, at your vehicle, 24/7
“I need a new key for my car” — that is the call we take on SEATs most days. A replacement key is created and paired to your vehicle at the roadside or on your driveway. Where the key has a blade it is cut to your locks; where it is a proximity fob the work is entirely electronic. The vehicle never leaves you.
How SEAT keys work
Ibiza, Leon, Arona and Ateca use the VW Group flip key on most trims, with keyless entry on higher specifications.
A remote that has stopped locking the car but still starts it is usually a fob or battery fault rather than a full key replacement — worth checking before you pay for a new key.

How long a SEAT key replacement takes
A straight replacement sits between a spare and an all-keys-lost job. If you still hold a working key it is quick; if the lost key was your only one, it becomes the all-keys-lost route below and takes longer.
What decides the price
Price is driven by the key type (SEAT bladed remote versus proximity fob), the model year, and whether a working key still exists. That is why we ask for the registration before quoting rather than after arriving.
SEAT key replacement FAQs
- Will my old SEAT key still work after a replacement?
- Only if you want it to. If a key has been lost or stolen we can delete it from the vehicle so it can never start the car again — say so when you book, because it means bringing every remaining key to the visit.
- Is a replacement key from you the same as a dealer key?
- It performs the same job — lock, unlock and start — and is programmed to your SEAT in the same way. We are mobile and come to the vehicle, which is the practical difference for most people.
- Are newer SEATs covered?
- Broad coverage across the current range.
